Ministry of Public Security Releases 10 Typical IP Infringement Criminal Cases of 2026

China’s Ministry of Public Security publicly released ten typical criminal cases concerning intellectual property infringement this year. These cases cover a wide range of illegal activities, including counterfeiting luxury goods, pirating audio and video works, and selling fake agricultural supplies. During the crackdown operations, police apprehended 189 suspects, dismantled 72 counterfeiting dens and shut down 56 online platforms engaged in IP violations, while seizing a large quantity of infringing products. Authorities have intensified crackdowns on new-style violations like live-streaming sales of counterfeits and cross-border IP infringements. The move reinforces criminal protection of intellectual property and deters potential lawbreakers.
